These two spots were for an anti-smoking campaign. They were a great way to try out a rare style of visual effects. We shot them with carefully planned interaction to give the actor something to react to and to create a real interaction with clothing and the actor for the 2D character to be placed upon. Integrating this 2D monkey was both fun and challenging. The talented 2D team at MAKE provided our compositing team with different passes for the monkeys to give us more control over the composite. The actual integration required a lot of rotoscoping between the actor and the character especially in shadow areas.
